A page-turning psychological mystery that is equal parts horror, humor, and romance, Nevermore is the story of Varen—a Poe fan and Goth—and Isobel—a cheerleader and unlikely heroine. When an English Lit. project pairs the two, Isobel finds herself swept into Varen’s world, one that he has created in his notebook and in his mind, one where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life. Isobel slowly learns that dreams and words can be much more powerful than she’d ever imagined. As labels of “Goth” and “cheerleader” fade away, Isobel and Varen slip into a consuming romance, braced against the ever-clearer horror that the most chilling realities are those within our own minds. When Isobel has a single chance to rescue Varen from the shadows of his nightmares, will she be able to save him—and herself?

This. Book.

Is nothing like I've ever read before. Sure it starts out in a school, like most cliche books. But then it gets creepy and wicked. And considering as how it's based on Edgar Allan Poe's works...it doesn't surprise me. It excites me. :3 Also, it makes me want to read some of his pieces. And I have The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe myself, so...*hugs it tightly to myself*

I really liked loved this book because it keeps me guessing on what will happen, and what/who people are. Usually, when I read books, I sometimes see stuff coming, or be like, "Oh! I know who's been sneaking around on so-and-so's wife." That's rhetorically speaking, just so you know. :P But this didn't happen with Nevermore. It actually made me gasp in a few scenes. And I freaking enjoyed the hell out of it.

Varen. Oh, Varen. How I love thee. You caught my eye right off the bat. And the thing is, this is related to my previous statement, is that I could not, for the life of me, figure out what the fuck he was. And I still don't know. If someone knows, or has an idea, please enlighten me. D: Because it's driving me crazy!

And can I just say that I hate Brad, Nikki, Alyssa, and Mark? Like, I know Nikki apologized, and you'd think it would be for all four of them.. But I didn't really get that vibe. So I still hate them all, not caring either. :D I don't care if Brad broke his leg, and ventured off into the unknown land of Varen's mind. He's still a prick. The end. Plus, Isobel is a weak okay character, I dealt with her throughout the book. But in most some of the book, she highly kinda got on my nerves. :3

Anyway. All in all, this was a epic book. And I can't wait until the next one. :D *rips hair out in the process*
