Minor spoilers ahead. :)

That ending was just....
I can't even explain how awesome this book is and how many feels I experienced. ;_; JULIE. WHY YOU DO THIS TO MEEEEE. I HAVE THESE THINGS YOU KNOW. THINGS THAT ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. BUT APPARENTLY THOSE THINGS DON'T MATTER. BUT I HAVE FEELS YOU KNOW. D:

The lore for this series is just so well thought out, I couldn't think of a better world to put vampires in besides a dystopian wasteland. <3 And the second book proved that much. The action was amazing as well, so badass and clearly thought out well enough for my eyes to start aching from reading/moving so fast, as cheesy as that sounds lol it's true. The scenery expanded and was even more vivid than I thought it would be, it definitely set my imagination aflame for a newer world than I new in the first book. :D And the tension...oh the tension.

The beginning of the book for Allison was just badass, she definitely showed her self and the nature of her own being as a vampire. And I loved it. She takes no shit and she only gives shit when there IS shit(lolol). Her skills have definitely improved as well. As I said in my review for the first book in this series, her katana wielding is just even more kick-ass. She still remains my favorite character of the series, but I do have to say that she was stubborn at a couple points in the book, which kinda had me like, "just stop...please?" I HATE STUBBORNNESS IN A GIRL. BUT I'M OKAY WITH IT IF IT'S FOR A GOOD REASON. ASFJKSDGF.

And of course when she runs into Jackal, things just got maddening. I could barely stand him. At times I wanted to say, "well you did I guess that's okay" and other times I just wanted to be in the book and just look at him like this:

As for Zeke.
Just stick a knife in my heart and cut it out and make a sacrifice because I don't want to live anymore. Not without a Zeke in my life. D: The way JK described him, as leaner, more muscular, and more....SEXY...just made me all hot and bothered. HELPING IT: NO. I LIKE IT. <3 And even though he got tougher and more...smart(is that the right word?), he was still the sweet Zeke we know in book one. <3 It's like he grew up from a teenager to a man. *fans self hastily*

And for Kanin. My second favorite character. As fans of this series may know, Kanin is Allison's maker...sire...whatthefuckever. And they haven't seen each other in a WHILE. And Kanin is...well...UN-FUCKING-STABLE. The first encounter with Allison and Kanin is not. fucking. pretty. The only thing I could imagine what the most bloody and most painful vampire-bite I've ever seen/imagined/read about. I don't exactly know why it was so surprising to me. I mean I kind of expected it, but I thought for sure it wouldn't happen. And then it did, and then I died a little. I kept reading it like:
The tension for that particular scene was almost too much for me..don't ask why because I don't know how my feels work either. It wasn't a sexual tension, I really don't see Kanin and Allison together now like I did for the first book. It was just a scary tension...that's the only way I know how to explain it lol. But then later on, Kanin came to his senses, and I loved him even more. ;3; He's such a passionate person, yet he's serious shit as well. Like if you asked him his opinion on something, he'll give you his honest thoughts. Which are usually TOO FUCKING BRUTALLY HONEST. But I respect him for that. <3

And then the ending. Those few pages before the last page was basically unbearable. I almost stopped reading and lost all hope for the series and the fandom of Julie Kagawa books. Not kidding. I was nearly reduced to letting those welled-up tears loose. But I had fucking hope, man. I kept reading. <3

Again, Julie has delivered another beautiful and gut-wrenching piece of work, just like she always does. :) Please, for the love of all that is holy, don't break our hearts. ;_; Like I said...FEELS. REMEMBER THEM. D:
